Emotion Regulation is a group for people whose experiences of trauma affect their day to day life. This could include feeling triggered, having difficulty identifying emotions, or feeling unsafe in the world. This group helps participants to “be” in the present moment, detach from negative memories and unproductive worrying, make connections between current triggers and life experiences, feel safer, less isolated, and be better equipped to make choices. Skills taught in this group come from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and draw on the principles of Trauma-informed care. The group runs from February 19 to April 19 from 1 PM to 3 PM at 1 Elizabeth St., Suite L-2 Orangeville.
