The training rides offered by the CMHA Peel Dufferin Ride Steering committee are intended to offer cyclists (both novice and experienced) an opportunity to ride Caledon Hills for themselves in a guided training environment.
For the experienced rider it will provide an opportunity to meet with new people and ride an area of the province you may not have experienced. For the novice or less experienced rider it will expose them to some fun yet challenging rides in a supportive and coaching environment intended to ensure they are ready for which ever ride they have selected; be it the 25 km, the 50 km, or the 100 km routes.
All training rides are between 30 and 60 km in length and cover parts of the actual 100 km route, there are coaches for every level of rider and no person will ever be left behind.
Some of the training items that will be addressed on the rides will be:
- the importance of a good bike fit and mechanical fitness
- riding and climbing tips
- straight line group riding and road safety.
We always include one social coffee/nutrition break at either The Higher Ground Café in Belfountain or the Four Corners Bakery in Caledon East.
