Client Rights and Responsibilities
Welcome to the Canadian Mental Health Association Peel Dufferin (CMHA Peel Dufferin). We hope that we can give you the kind of support and help that you are looking for.
When you receive services from CMHA Peel Dufferin you have the right to:
- Receive high-quality, accessible service.
- Be treated with respect and courtesy.
- Participate in determining appropriate services.
- Be listened to and have our workers support you to make a plan for your recovery.
- Get information and support to help you move forward with your recovery.
- Be served without discrimination.
- Request a change of worker if there is another worker available who can address your issues and your request is reasonable – you should know that discriminatory requests will not be considered.
- Receive service in offices that are safe, clean and accessible.
- Have your questions regarding the service being provided answered.
- Accept or refuse the services offered.
- Have your information kept private and confidential as described in the privacy information relayed to you and found in our Privacy brochure which is provided to you. You can express any questions or complaints to our Privacy Officer.
This is what we ask from you:
- Treat staff and others at CMHA Peel Dufferin with courtesy and respect.
- Participate in determining appropriate services.
- Let your worker know as soon as possible if you will be late or unable to meet with them as arranged.
- Discuss any service concerns with us if at all possible.
