Help Shape the Delivery of your Local Mental Health and Addictions Services
As part of a commitment to placing the needs of our clients first, CMHA Peel Dufferin aim to engage and empower our community clients, families and caregivers in helping to shape the delivery of their mental health and addiction services.
It is with this important objective in mind and in support of Ontario’s Patients First Act, Patient/Client and Family Advisory Committees (PFACs) are being established across Ontario’s health care systems.
CMHA Peel Dufferin is currently seeking passionate individuals and community advocates to voluntarily serve as members of its new Client and Family Advisory Council (CFAC). Through the sharing of unique health care stories, opinions, perspectives and lived experiences, Your voices as clients, family members and caregivers will actively help to influence and shape the delivery of mental health and addiction services, quality improvement initiatives and in some instances, co-design programs and services within the local communities of Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, Dufferin County, North Etobicoke and West Woodbridge, to enable high quality mental health and addictions service outcomes.
Expected to meet approximately four times per year, the CMHA Peel Dufferin CFAC will include 12 volunteer members who ideally represent the multicultural and geographic diversity of our clients. More specifically, we’re seeking council members who are committed to improving and enhancing the client experience, and who share the following qualities and attributes:
- Have had lived experience with mental health and addictions as a client
- Lives within Brampton, Mississauga, Caledon, Dufferin County, North Etobicoke or West Woodbridge
- Able to see beyond their own personal experience
- Committed and passionate about enhancing the client experience
- Open-minded, solution-oriented with a positive attitude
- Able to speak in a large group or in front of others
- A willingness to actively participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives
