Early Intervention

Early Intervention supports individuals who have experienced a first episode of psychosis to lead fulfilling, satisfying lives within their community.

What is Early Intervention?

Early Intervention is provided in a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency approach through a partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association Peel Dufferin (CMHA PD), Punjabi Community Health Services (PCHS), and Support and Housing in the Province (SHIP).

Who can benefit?

Early Intervention is offered to individuals ages 14-35 who have recently experienced signs and symptoms of psychosis (alternate realities/hearing voices).

What are the major benefits?

The purpose of the program is to provide support in achieving their recovery goals, education, minimize disruption and societal impact by reintegrating them into the community and school, and develop coping strategies. The program also offers various groups including; social outings, therapeutic groups and skills building.

Team Model:

While one agency will be supporting a lead in your care and recovery, you may be supported by other providers from the partnered agencies. Support is provided by the team for the client and family in both home and community settings.
