PEEL — The Canadian Mental Health Association – Peel Branch (CMHA Peel) fundraiser— Ride Don’t Hide— raised more than $35,000 for local health programs and initiatives.
More than 200 cyclists congregated in Caledon on June 22 to take part in the 100K or 50K scenic ride that weaved around the Caledon trail.
The purpose of the event was to raise awareness and funds for mental health programs and the Peel ride was one of five in Ontario. Nationally, 20 rides across Canada raised $676,055 for local CMHA branches.
“We are overwhelmed by the level of community support and enthusiasm for the Ride,” wrote CMHA Peel CEO David Smith. “From our local sponsors; to the cyclists and their families and friends who donated to the Ride; to the 57 tireless volunteers who came out to help, the support was just amazing. We are so thankful to the community.” Brampton Guardian – “Cyclists come out in droves to support Peel Ride Don’t Hide”
