What is the Behavioural Supports Ontario Program?
The Behavioural Supports Ontario (BSO) initiative was created to enhance health care services for older adults in Ontario with complex and responsive behaviours associated with dementia, mental health, substance use and/or other neurological conditions.
The BSO Crisis Mental Health Nurse will work in collaboration with 24.7 Crisis Support Peel Dufferin team, including the various Police forces in the region.

Older adults in Ontario with complex and responsive behaviours associated with dementia, mental health, substance use and/or other neurological conditions.
What are the major benefits?
The Behavioural Supports Ontario (BSO) initiative includes a systemic approach for the assessment of adults in crisis and those who are experiencing responsive behaviours to stabilize and manage the current crisis situation. The Nurse conducts risk and safety assessments, gives support and accesses support from many sources in the community.
