Read full Toronto Star article Investing money and human resources to fill gaps and break down barriers to mental health services will improve the health and well-being of residents and tackle one of the root causes of poverty in Peel Region.

It’s among the findings of a new United Way of Peel Region (UWPR) report examining mental health services and supports in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon.

Titled Mapping the Mental Health System in Peel Region: Challenges and Opportunities the 65-page report looks at access to and navigation of services such as crisis intervention; hospital emergency, in- and out-patient services; outreach and emergency shelter services; as well as family, neighbourhood and ethno cultural supports.
