Ride Don’t Hide 2019 – Volunteer Positions

Parking Control: 4 Positions

Start time 6.15 am – Finish time 10.00 am

All vehicles will be parking in an adjacent field. This volunteer position will be organizing and directing vehicles to park uniformly to maximize this space.


Set–up: 10 Positions

Start time 6.00 am – Finish time 9.30 am

This volunteer position will entail setting up 9×9 tents, tables, chairs, bike racks & sponsorship signage.

Preparing & loading of the water station vehicles.


Rider Check-in: 6 Positions

Start time 6.30 am – Finish time 10.30 am

This volunteer will be checking in registrants- registrants will be given an identification bracelet and swag bag with t-shirt.


Food & Beverage: Breakfast: 3 Positions

Lunch: 3 Positions

Breakfast: Start time 6.30 am – Finish time 10.30 am.

This volunteer will be setting up food and beverages and serving breakfast to all identified riders.

Lunch: Start time 10.30 am Finish time 1.30 pm

This volunteer will be aiding the BBQ vendor, serving lunch to all riders and volunteers.


Follow Cars for Road Rides: 3 Positions

100 km route: Start time: 7.00 am – Finish Time 1.00 pm

50 km route: Start time: 8.00 am – Finish Time 1.00 pm

25km route: Start time: 9.00 am – Finish Time 1.00 pm

This volunteer position requires a licensed/insured driver. This volunteer will follow rider route and pick up all road signs. They will be responsible for aiding riders who break down by contacting mechanical support and if first aid is required contacting medical support.

Drivers will be compensated for mileage if requested.


Route Volunteers: 22 Positions

Start time 8.00 am – 12.00 pm

This position will be to ensure the safety of our riders at all crossings on the trail ride. You will aid riders to cross safely at all intersections along the route. Each in intersection will have two volunteers.


Water Stations: 10 Positions.

Water Stations will be set up through-out the ride routes, each water station requires two volunteers.

They will be responsible for providing all riders with water and snacks.

A vehicle is required by one of the volunteers. All water stations volunteers will pick-up supplies at event site before heading to water station location.

Locations and times for this position to be determined at a later date.

Drivers will be compensated for mileage if requested.


Finish Line Support & Take down: 10 Positions

Start time 10.30 am Finish time 1.30 pm

This volunteer position, will cheer / congratulate riders as the cross the finish line. Also aid riders to cool down, providing them with water. When all riders have returned this position will then help in the take down of all tents, tables, chairs, bike racks and signage, including garbage clean-up.


Rider Engagement Volunteers 10 – 15 Positions

Start time 8:00 am Finish time 12:00 pm

Provide encouragement and well wishes before the ride. Congratulate riders after they are finished the ride and direct returning riders to lunch area.


Sweep Rider Volunteers 5 – 8 Positions

Volunteer cyclists that ride along the route with registered riders to ensure that the riders are riding safely and headed in the right direction. Provide support along the routes. You should have a basic knowledge of cycling and first-aid certified.
